About Tracy
I am a California Licensed Clinical Social Worker, wife, mother (to human and animal souls), friend, lover of thought, quirky people, laughing and travel. I consider myself a lifelong learner, always seeking to see more of this amazing planet, people, space and time. I have always sought out, what used to be considered alternative, natural, energy and spiritual healing methodologies. Remember those tests you take in high school that tell you what type of job you would be suited for? I got psychotherapist. Cringe. I just wanted to work with people. Life has filtered me through work in non-profits, locked facilities, crisis centers, county mental health work, and have loved working at Tribal Health for the last 8 years. After graduate school, I figured I would try out the therapy thing…and well… I have been a practicing Psychotherapist for over 14 years. Turns out, not only is it suited to me, I love it. Three days of the week are dedicated to private practice, two as a therapist at a Tribal Health. I have and continue to volunteer a lot of time and energy to local and state organizations true to my social work values and ethics. This also helps to keep me grounded in community, learning and growth.
It is an honor and privilege to support people through their darkest thoughts, memories and experiences with intent to heal. I began, like most therapists, with traditional talk therapy or Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). CBT works! and I still use it though I knew I wasn’t seeing the whole picture with a top down approach. It all seemed to make sense once I was able to blend my professional work, personal life experience and additional body and energy based training. My passion for bottom-up and top-down holistic therapy modalities kindle my love of supportive healing. Along the way, I have also used every opportunity to heal my own wounds and trauma. A wise person once told me, “you can only take people as far as you have gone.” While I have not lived everything my client’s bring to me, some experiences of pain and wounding are universal. I can sit with you in the pain and you can feel confident that I can deal with the fire.
